A nation that builds.
A record that proves it.

— Manifesto

The country is making things. The world should know what.

Somalia is one of the most entrepreneurial nations on earth. Frankincense from Bari. Sesame and bananas from the Shabelle. Camels and goats from Mudug. Textiles from Hargeisa. Fish from the longest coastline in mainland Africa. Cement, steel, plastics, packaging, soap — produced, every day, in cities the international buyer cannot find on a procurement portal.

That gap is not because the production isn't there. It is because the record isn't there. There is no single, trusted place a buyer in Dubai, Nairobi or London can land to see what is made here — by whom, at what scale, with what certifications, at what price.

We are building that place. The record. The catalogue. The directory. The museum.

— The Wings

Four wings, one building.

Each wing is a different way of looking at the same country: by producer, by product, by opportunity, by standard.

Exhibit I

The Producer Record

Each producer page is a public, structured record: legal name, ownership, year founded, sector, region, employees, capacity, certifications, contact. The same fields, applied to every entry. Compare apples to apples — across Hargeisa and Kismayo, across a 4-person workshop and a 400-person factory.

Exhibit II

The Product Catalogue

Every product is tied to a producer, priced in USD, with MOQ, unit, and certifications surfaced. No stock photos. No phantom inventory. The catalogue is the floor of the building — walk it.

Exhibit III

Opportunities & Investment

Industrial opportunities — packaged, priced, sourced. Public thesis on top, paid investor pack underneath. Capex bands, import-substitution math, national-plan alignment. Built so a serious buyer or operator can decide in a single sitting.

Exhibit IV

The Standards Wing

Made in Somalia certification. Rules of Origin (ROO) verification. Export readiness. We surface what each producer has actually been awarded — not aspirational logos.

— Taxonomy

Eight sectors. One country.

The taxonomy is locked. Every producer slots into exactly one primary sector — so buyers can compare like-for-like across the country, and policy makers can read the data without translating it twice.

— Editorial Code

The rules we keep, even when nobody is watching.

A directory is only as honest as the people maintaining it. These are the five rules our editors apply to every entry, every claim, every cell.

  1. 01

We will publish what is true, in the language a buyer reads.

  2. 02

We will not invent producers, products, prices, or capacity.

  3. 03

We will not let advertising decide who appears first.

  4. 04

We will name the editor, the source, and the date on every claim.

  5. 05

We will share the public record freely; we will charge only for the work behind it.

01

Verified, not advertised

Every producer is reviewed by our editorial team before being published. Ownership, region, sector, capacity, certifications — checked, then listed.

02

Real goods, real makers

No paid placement. No fabricated catalogues. What you see is what is produced — by people we have spoken to, at addresses we have on file.

03

Direct contact

Buyers reach producers through verified channels. No brokers in the middle, no opaque chains, no manufactured scarcity.

04

Bilingual by design

Published in English first; Somali (af-Soomaali) added by human translators. Never machine translation. The Somali column is a promise, not a fallback.

— The Curators

Who builds the record.

A small editorial team in Mogadishu and Hargeisa, with field reviewers in Bosaso, Kismayo and Garowe. Producers submit; reviewers verify; editors publish.

We work alongside Somali chambers of commerce, the diaspora, and a growing bench of researchers writing the national industrial record — much of which has, until now, only lived in private spreadsheets.
